The alternative licensure graduate certificate program is for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to “fast-track” to become certified New Mexico teachers. This program is accredited by the New Mexico Public Education Department, and you can start teaching using your alternative license as soon as you are admitted into the program. Completing the program takes only 18 months.

You can choose between the following licenses:

  • Elementary education, kindergarten–grade 8
  • Secondary education, grades 7–12
