The Yvonne Williams Certificate Program for Alternative Licensure in Elementary Education offers an innovative pathway to becoming a teacher. This 12-credit program combines engaging coursework with a hands-on, supervised field experience in a local classroom. If you have a bachelor’s degree and aspire to teach elementary students (grades K-8), this program allows you to teach in a New Mexico school while earning your Level 1 New Mexico teaching license—and you'll be paid for your work!

All classes are offered online, with one course per semester, including during the summer. You can complete the Alternative Licensure program in as little as 18 months.
