The Universt of New Mexico's Special Education program offers graduate study leading to the Master of Arts (M.A.) with three concentration options: (1) Intellectual Disability and Severe Disabilities: Studies in Educational Equity for Diverse Exceptional Learners; (2) Learning and Behavioral Exceptionalities: Studies in Instruction, Curriculum, Collaboration, and Transition of Diverse Learners; and (3) Behavior Analysis. The program can also include teacher certification preparation in Special Education (Pre-K–12) if requested early in the program, supporting candidates to qualify for New Mexico educator licensure issued by the state.
